U.S. President Barack Obama on Sept. 1 at the White House since taking office for his first direct peace talks between Israel and Palestine to pave the way for peace talks suspended for nearly two years to bring a new situation, Obama said the Israeli and Palestinian leaders said that peace talks could progress has been made within one year.
Obama at the White House were visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Jordan’s King Abdullah and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to hold bilateral talks, then delivered a speech that “in Prime Minister and President Abbas Tania Hu, I believe wants to pursue peace, both sides say the peace talks could be completed within a year. I also told them that the time is very rare. ” He believed that the Israeli and Palestinian leaders want to pursue peace.
Obama stressed that his goal since he took office the two programs is to promote the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, alongside Israel, he said, not only national interests, but also U.S. interests. He said the two sides deadlocked Israeli-Palestinian status quo is unsustainable. Obama will be world leaders at a dinner at night, while the direct peace talks between Israel and Palestine will be the 2nd official start in the U.S. Department of State, chaired by the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
